Danny Gabbidon says West Ham players not interested
"West Ham fans demand 100 per cent from their players and at times its looked like players haven’t been putting in a shift and haven’t really been interested,” Gabbidon told The Brian Moore Show (weekdays 3pm-7pm).

“I think that has been a problem for probably the last three or four seasons, previous managers have had troubles with motivating players and getting players performing on a consistent basis.

“There can be no complaints on the amount of money that has spent in the summer, the owners have really tried to back the new manager and there have been some good signings.

“So I am sure Pellegrini is learning a lot about his players in this period, and he is probably going to need another couple of windows.”

Shame too many are more interested in slagging the messenger off instead of focusing on the message

The fact he was such a player himself for a period of time means he can identify similar traits in others and it is a worry what he is saying because most of us know it's true.

Sullivan and his fellow spiv agents are largely to blame for focusing on razzle dazzle deals and it will take quite a while for all the bad apples to be outed. Likewise Noble has become a board lapdog and wont rock the boat so we have little real leadership in the dressing room or out on the pitch.

So "last three or four seasons" eh Danny?
Remarkable coincidence that its roughly the same time scale
as moving to the shit bowl.
We've lost home advantage, the players can't hear the
fans having a go

It comes from the top. If you have chairman that are incompetent and settle for mediocrity that's what you'll get.

"Sully loves an ageing, high wage, big name and they bring the exact motivational problems that we are suffering from."

Not sure that works for our current struggles.

One or two players fit that description in the lineups that lost the last three games and in fact our oldest players were among the most professional and motivated - Fabianksi and Zabaleta.

Arnautovic and Hernandez probable fit your description and maybe Nasri, but only one of those were on the pitch at any point during the last three losses.

Snodgrass is old and looks to be losing some steam, but I don't think we can say he isn't motivated or is a big name.

The rest were not brought in when they were old and certainly were not big names (even Anderson) .

Masuaku ticks none of your boxes but is one of the biggest problems.

(Maybe you could try foreign but as the other thread shows Wolves are doing okay)

I love this bit in the original post "There can be no complaints on the amount of money that has spent in the summer, the owners have really tried to back the new manager and there have been some good signings.

So what can you deduct from this, severe under investment for years meaning we have a lot of dead wood in the squad and MP can not change it in one transfer window. BLAME THE BOARD!

This thread is about spot on for my money.

Sully loves an ageing, high wage, big name and they bring the exact motivational problems that we are suffering from.

Great on Sky, at home, against Arsenal and the opposite on a Tuesday night, at Wolves, in January.

Re: Danny Gabbidon says West Ham players not interested
Allardyce fucked us with the stupid deal for the never playing Carroll

This led to further crazy deals for the never playing Reid and others.

Then we signed the never playing Hernández on insane money which pissed off the players again.

Now we have the never playing Wilshire on crazy wages.

The players care more about money than West Ham - at our level where there is nothing to win why wouldn’t they?

If you went to work and saw that those on long term sick were on double what your earned you’d be pissed off too.

If we want to pay champions league level wages we need to be in the champions league and buy champions league quality players. If not we need to attract hungry players with a point to prove and the motivation to prove it.

As for Gabbidon - pah! This is the guy that on NYE didn’t travel with the squad to reading, instead he came up from Cardiff because he wanted to go out on NYE. The bloke was still half cut when he took to the field and how did that work out?

Perhaps MR West Ham is part of the problem now? He has never known anything else so can only lead the team to attain the consistent level of inconsistency. He is stale. Time for Declan to take the lead?

I make him about right. Proper hypocrisy on his part digging out anyone for not being motivated. Maybe he's not feeling sad anymore the fucking snowflake.
